
Freya, Harriet and Georgia, from Wirral Y E ; Bethany and Sophie from Merseyside Y E ; Melissa from Bickerton; Georgina and Michaela from Chester all attended a workshop at the Liverpool Women`s Hospital. Ruby Porter managed a course based on a GARDEN. Skills were silk-paintingand they used herring bone stitch, chain stitch and Algerian eye stitch. Some girls worked on stencilled elephants. They were assisted by Denise, Margaret, Bethan, and Joan
Some of the pieces of work produced by this lovely group of Young Embroiderers. The youngest member is four years old. On the extreme right is Margaret Gold who led the Merseyside group for at least fifteen years, recently retired but still willing to help.

Chloe James-Turner received the cup for best student in 2008. Next to her is a wall-hanging celebrating Liverpool`s year as Capital of Culture, produced by our Young Embroiderers.
