
Rubina Porter has worked with the Orphanage in Sreepur Bangladesh since 1990. Approached by The Craft Museum of Finland , she produced a box made of Sreepur woven silk, dyed with tea and embellished with dyed threads. It was accepted and can be seen at The Craft Museum in Jyvaskyla, from May 17th to September 10th.
Ruby has also organised exhibitions of of Textiles and Embroidery from Bangladesh showing at the following venues.

Merseyside Guild member, Val Heron, co-ordinator of the Hoare Gallery in the Anglican Cathedral requires helpers to man the desk at the exhibition. Prospective researchers can access the hidden embroideries by contacting the Cathedral office.

At a recent workshop for Young Embroiderers from Merseyside, Wirral, Chester, and Bickerton, held in the Liverpool Women`s Hospital education suite, Ruby Porter,had samples of new products from Sreepur, Bangladesh. These included Thankyou cards in straw work, embroidered mobile phone bags, Coloured twisted embroidery thread, and cards showing this interesting material in use Ruby can be contacted through the comments page.
